What is an Object? is a group of works, including a video utilizing found and original imagery of women viewed under the male gaze and from behind. Mirrored picture frames provide varying degrees of visibility of the images they hold—at times the viewer is confronted with another face looking back at them, while at other moments they encounter their own face fully reflected. Additionally, Xerox prints of architectural niches hang with digital picture frames mounted on top, displaying slide shows of female statuary.
